The Vine Of The Soul: 2023

Having grown up around healers and shamanism, I was inspired by the songs (Icaros) sung by the shamans of the Amazon during their healing ceremonies working with sacred plants such as Ayahuasca also known as the vine of the soul.

My intention was to embody the vine of the soul through my gestures and movements. I allow its roots to emerge through the earth, the soles of my feet, my spine, into the palms of my hands speaking even through the tips of my fingers.

Remembering Beyond Form: 2022

Perhaps humanity has done this dance many times before. Drawing from the wisdom of the ancestors, this piece invites us to go beyond the forms of ethnicity, color, race, and other dividing lines. May we move beyond the blame and finger-pointing and take radical responsibility for what we create next on this planet.

Estrella Emergence: 2021

Estrella Emergence is a movement-based short film, transitioning from the darkness of the worldwide pandemic, to the light & celebration that awaits humanity. Estrella, the Spanish origin meaning star, is a metaphor for the light that is in each human being. We explore the sensations of being tethered to a location with the burdens of everyday life and the transformation of becoming a warrior of the light.

How can we move through the pain of last year to find the wisdom & strength to move forward. How can we trust that joy & freedom can enter our lives again.

Nostalgic Beings Of Synesthesia: 2022

We are the physical and metaphysical existence of the mind on earth. Exotic winged creatures in a constant state of the chrysalis. We are from the before and after time. This piece is the continuation of constant conversations, the dialogue of speaking in a language unknown to humankind. It explores the physical experience of undulating spiritual verbal dialect through movement. The piece offers a glimpse into the inner world of a dancer with synaesthesia, which acts as a portal into accessing other realms of consciousness, and memories. The trance is set in motion through the compilation of numerous instrumental sounds, rhythms, beats, tempos, and patterns, evoking and moving the audience to go deeper into self.

The Tears of the Evergreens: 2020

The man makes and creates these unspoken vows. Unknowingly, he agrees to these terms and rules, confining, confiding, and holding him into these walls. Leaving him at the edge of a tiny hill, holding only sand and specs of a world filled with devotion, connection, mountains, and oceans with waves of sensations. He sees how he allowed these unspoken rules to keep him in an ominous undefined lock of a trance. He feels the pain it has caused him. He screams to reach the surface but yet not one soul can hear.

1 year and six months have gone by but it feels like he’s been locked up for 15. In this time he’s watched all he’s loved, leave, wilt, and die. The trees and mountains around him that he called his family have dissolved into the aged ground, leaving nothing but even more empty space around him. Summertime is about to end and his body of trees is getting ready for the cold season. It appears faintly, but he begins to see a golden spark of light, as his eyes follow its every movement. He begins to see a film in the sky going over his whole life, seeing, and experiencing his loved ones and family garden of greens all over again. The sense of time expands and shrinks. In this moment, now, at the edge of the hill, he waits.

Visual Distortion: 2021

Born into the alternate universe we know as the matrix, 4 individuals grow up in the cyber world. Filled with eccentric, vibrant, textures, architectures, and energies as a group of external beings, they travel from dimension to dimension discovering and dabbling in the cultural styles and ways of living. With the power and abilities to heal and morph, they travel to earth and manipulate the screens. The masses are so consumed and visually distorted to what they see. Repetition, illusion, connection. Each time doing so, hoping to awaken and evoke the true meanings of life and the divine path of those who live on earth.

Rebirthing Earth: 2019

This piece explores the agony of humanity and mother earth expressed through the human body, as she suffers from the devastation and assault endured at the hands of humans...through sounds, shapes, movement and emotions.

We walk the earth frazzled with headphones, tuning out ourselves and each other.
Our movements are erratic. We feel restless, repetitive wearing our pain on our faces and skin.
We are mirrors to the pain of the earth reflecting, resisting the inevitable ending. Unaware that life cannot go on this way. Unaware that labour involves pain. Labour involves struggle so that we may birth new life, a new human and a new earth.
